FAQs

What does the process look like?

If you are interested in getting an unclaimed flash piece you can just DM me on Instagram and let me know what size and placement you would want. All currently unclaimed and available flash will be on my flash highlight on my Instagram.

if you are looking to get something custom, or something similar to a claimed flash that you like, I use a booking form. I will generally open my books every few months so that you don’t have to wait too long if you just found me in the middle of a booking cycle! I will always post about when books are opening and update my bio to reflect booking dates! So having post notifications on for stories or just checking my bio are the best ways to stay up to date with booking availability!

When my books are open you can submit a form request. Make sure you fill it out to the best of your ability and be as thorough as possible. My assistant will then follow up over email to schedule a date and get your deposit! I will reach out to you over DM if I have any specific questions or just to check in a few days before your appointment.

You can also shoot me a DM if you have a quick question or if there’s something you can’t find on my website but I do not book appointments through DM anymore (Other than flash).

I haven’t gotten a response to my Form/DM! What do I do?

I try to get to all requests for flash through DM, Sometimes there will be many people asking about the same piece so if I happen to miss your message feel free to just follow up! If you submit a form and don’t hear back from me know that it takes me a while to get through them all. Also, depending on the volume of requests I get and the number of slots I have open, not everyone who submits a form will get an appointment. I will try to let you know though so you’re not just waiting and wondering!

Are there any shop rules I should know about?

Yes! thank you for asking ;) Please Please be on time for your appointment, this is my full-time job and I book sessions throughout the day so being late can throw things off. I totally understand that LA traffic can be a menace sometimes so just let me know if you’re going to be a few minutes late. If you’re worried about getting lost just let me know and I can provide more info about directions. I have a private studio and it’s not a huge space so if you would like to bring someone with you for moral support/ company please try to limit it to one other person. If there’s anything you need at any time just let me know! I try to foster a safe and fun environment so make yourself at home and be respectful of the space. Other than that just come ready to get a tattoo and have a good time!

How do I heal my tattoo?

I will go over what I recommend for healing once we finish your tattoo but in case you forgot I’ll remind you :) The healing process takes about two weeks and it’s really important to take care of your tattoo because those two weeks will play a huge part in how it looks for the rest of your life. Keeping it out of the sun for the first few days is crucial, along with avoiding any water besides a shower. That means pools, oceans, hot tubs, ponds… Idk what yall are into. As it’s healing it will start to itch, whatever you do, DO NOT itch it. Itching your tattoo while it’s healing can pull out ink that’s not done healing and make your tattoo blotchy and overall not great looking.

I will put on a clear bandage that you can leave on for up to a week. (4-7 days is ideal) If it falls off before that, no worries just start the second-week healing process early. Once you take that initial wrap off after the week just wash it gently with non-scented soap and water and let it air dry or dab it with a clean single-use towel. Then just apply a light coat of non-scented lotion or Aquaphor for a week after that as it’s finishing up healing.

NOTE* The clear bandage will sometimes fill with ink and or blood, don’t worry that’s totally normal and will not impact the healing process.

Can I get a touch-up?

I will in most cases touch up any of my work for free. (touch-ups of work that’s not mine will be charged my regular rate) However, it is crucial to take good care of your tattoo while healing to ensure the best results. It is also important to understand that tattoos will never look as good as the day they are done, that’s just how it goes. That being said, single-needle tattoos will fade and lines may not stay perfectly crisp. I generally advise clients that touch-ups aren’t needed unless there are big areas of ink that have faded or fallen out or other more extreme cases. With that, feel free to ask me about it, I’m happy to look at any healed pictures and let you know what I think would be best.

Hey Abe what do you charge?

Most pieces are charged on an individual basis. I don’t have a set hourly rate, but most pieces are generally going to be around $250/hr. That number may vary from tattoo to tattoo based on size/ placement/ detail/ complexity. Rates are also usually different if I am traveling for a guest spot. Ultimately I can give you an estimate but the final price will be based on the final product. My minimum is $250 but I’m happy to do multiple small pieces to make it more worth it if you only want something really small.

Should I tip?

It’s up to you if you decide to tip or not, this is my full-time job so any tip is super appreciated and it lets me know that you’re satisfied with my work but it’s not required by any means.

Where are you located?

I have a private studio in Pasadena California.

How far in advance do I need to book an appointment?

I generally open my books the month before I will start taking appointments. I usually book about 3-4 months out during a booking round. (EX: books open July for appointments August - November or December) I don’t take walk-ins and generally, I won’t be able to accommodate last-minute appointments. Just plan ahead and book as soon as you know you’re ready! I will occasionally post about last-minute openings but flash is usually the priority for those slots.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

I am happy to work with you to find a time to reschedule your appointment if you need to cancel for any reason. If you can let me know a week or more in advance I will just move your deposit over to the new session and you’ll be all set. If you are unable to give me a week’s notice I will ask that you put down a new deposit for your new session. if you just need to cancel and you don’t want to reschedule, I’ll have to keep your deposit as it is non-refundable. I like to keep my deposit price low so it just serves as a commitment from you the client, and a guarantee from me of your appointment date/ time. If I have to cancel your appointment for any reason I will refund your appointment or book you a new slot as soon as I can.

Did I hear something about a referral program?

Yes, you did. If you refer a friend to me who’s never been tattooed by me before and they mention your name during their appointment I will give both of you 10% off your next session up to $30.
